Making mistakes during a lifetime is part of life with some minor ones and some very serious ones. But there is one thing for sure in
regards to making mistakes, and that is, that we can learn from them once we admit they were mistake and are willing to do something with them.
Seven Ways We Can Profit from Our Mistakes:
1. Learn from them: Life is full of lessons and the greatest part of life that we can learn from is our mistakes. If we are not learning from our mistakes, then we are repeating them.
2. Help guide others: Our past mistakes can be used as guides for future generations, our children’s children and the societies yet to come.
3. Gather golden nuggets of wisdom: Because we become all the wiser from past mistakes we are able to gather those experiences like golden nuggets to become a wiser person.
4. Give us time to improve: Past mistakes give us the opportunity to improve our character through experience. We may become a better person as a whole.
5. Believe it is a teacher: By looking back at the way situations have turned out we can see how things may have been different, therefore mistakes serve as a teacher.
6. Accept they have value: We cannot change the past but we have the option to use it as a valuable exercise in experience with a valuable lesson. There is much value in mistakes.
7. An opportunity to reset a goal: Mistakes made in the past can truly give us the opportunity to reset our goals for the future. They can show us where we strayed from the intended goal.
These are only seven, and surely there must be more ways we can profit from our mistakes, but really, the overall value of admitting to having made some drastic mistakes is not to repeat them. Though we may repeat some minor ones now and then, we may repeat them until we get it right. Mistakes in life do serve a good purpose, if we’re willing to admit they were mistakes in the first place.
