Success is As Simple As Knowing Your ABC’s
October 22, 2009
By Thomas Edward Anderson I
There are many people with the highest degrees from the best schools that are still working dead end jobs. Being well educated or emerge yourself in information does not lead to success. Don’t get me wrong, education, information and learning about a subject are VERY important. However, they are not the most important aspects of your success.
So what is it? What is the one thing that will determine your path to success?
It’s summed up in one word…..ACTION!
I like to keep things REALLY SIMPLE, because I’ve found that if something is complicated, it’s not being done correctly. Life, success, and creating a reality that exceeds your dreams are all simple, if you follow these simple steps.
We’re going to use the ABC method from now on to break down everything you want to achieve into small, manageable steps. Here is the ABC method in simple terms.
A = Action
B = Belief
C = Consistency
If you combine these 3 elements, you’re guaranteed to find success in what you want to achieve. So now I’d like to break down these 3 elements a bit to explain exactly what I mean by each one.
These points are the foundation of this guide and must be the basis of each and every thing that you want to achieve from this moment on.
Action - Taking action is the point in time where you stop trying. It’s the very moment when you realize that “Trying” doesn’t exist. You simply can’t “Try” to do anything. You either are…..or you’re not.
To make this point I’d like you right now, to take a pen and place it in front of you and try to pick it up…..Go ahead and try.
Now, did you pick it up? Yes? Then you didn’t try, you did it. Place it down again, and try again. You’ll quickly see that you either are…or you’re not, picking up the pen.
The same goes with “Trying” to do anything.
People say it all the time….”I’m trying to lose weight” – “I’m trying to quit smoking” – “I’m trying this….I’m trying to do that….” It’s a habit that has been formed over time. The reality is, if you say that you’re “Trying” to do something, you don’t have the second critical element of success that we’re going to talk about next.
Belief - Belief in yourself, belief that you WILL accomplish your goal, belief that you, and you alone, are responsible for your own success and your own failure. You must believe that you are the person who creates your life. It’s YOUR design, and it’s YOUR responsibility to make it the life that exceeds your dreams.
Once you take action, you must believe that you are going to do what you set out to do. The best way to do that is through an EXCLAMATION. When you tell others what you are going to do, you set a standard for yourself and make yourself accountable. You’ll find that when you begin to make exclamations of your actions, your holding yourself to a higher standard.
So, for instance, the person that says “I’m trying to lose weight” does not have the belief they need to ultimately succeed. They have given themselves an out. And if they ultimately fail to complete their goal, it’s okay, because they said they were just “Trying.” They never actually said they were going to do it. Right?
However, let’s look at the statement again. “I am going to lose weight.” It’s an exclamation of a specific action and it comes through with conviction and a sense of belief that they are going to accomplish what they say they are going to do.
Now, can that person also fail to accomplish what they said they were going to do? Yes, if they don’t apply the third critical element of success…
Consistency – I truly believe that this is the most difficult of the 3 elements. It’s the word that causes most people to fail. But it’s also the word that can be the most powerful of the 3 critical elements of success.
Consistency, is the act of doing a specific action over and over again. You’ll see that the word “action” exists within this definition. So if someone consistently follows through on the declared action “I am going to lose weight” then they MUST succeed. It’s only until they break the cycle of consistency that they can indeed fail.

Make Dreams Come True
October 21, 2009
By Elaine Love
Good news. If you have a dream in your heart, you also have the ability to achieve it. Something you passionately want, not just lukewarm desire. None of us were ever given a burning desire to reach a specific goal without the ability to reach that goal. You may be saying, “Oh yeah, but you don’t know my circumstances.” True, I don’t know your circumstances, but I know my own. I also know many others who achieved despite adverse circumstances. They achieved because they kept searching for the solution until they found it.
Edwin C. Barnes was poor in financial terms but he had a burning desire to be the business partner of Thomas Edison. Yes, I said business partner, not just employee. Since he did not have any money, he traveled in a box car of a freight train to go see Edison. He entered the great man’s office in tattered clothes but a spirit on fire. He finally convinced Edison to allow him to be an employee of Edison’s staff. He worked his way up from that lowly status for five years without a glimmer of hope of anything more than being just another employee.
The difference was that Barnes held it in his mind every minute of the time that he was in fact Edison’s business partner. He worked accordingly. Barnes created a plan, burned all bridges behind him and focused on his burning desire. He did not say, “I’ll give it a try.” Nor did he say, “I’ll give it a few months.” While others were jealous of Barnes for his “lucky break,” Barnes knew it was not an accident but a specific plan to achieve his passionate dream. Yes, dreams come true when you forsake all turning back, focus on the goal, make a plan to achieve it and take the necessary action.
My question to you is “Where is your focus?” Are you seeking excuses why you will not succeed; or are you searching for methods to succeed? Look deep into your thoughts and feelings. Your truthful answer to this question determines your future. Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you are correct. The answer and the end result are within your control.
Tony Robbins reminds us, “Where focus goes, energy flows.” You are the only one who can truly answer the question about your real thoughts and feelings. Your thoughts flow to your feelings to your words to your actions to your results. When you focus all of your thoughts, feelings, words and actions on a specific goal, you absolutely will achieve it.
You arrived in this world fully loaded. If you were a car, you would be a fully loaded luxury car. You have the power windows, power locks, power everything and all of the extra toys and features available to be purchased. You arrived in this world fully loaded for success. Your responsibility is to discover those special abilities and put them into action. Tony Robbins also said, “Everything you need is already in you.” How badly do you want to find and use those talents?
The good news for people is that you have the ability to make your dreams come true. Discover your passion. Discover your burning desire, focus on the goal and take the action steps to achieve it. Sounds simple? Yes it really is that simple. Dreams come true when you focus on your burning desire and persist until your achieve the goal. Make your dreams come true. “Everything you need is already in you.”

What is Success & What Does Success Mean to You?
October 20, 2009
By Tania Gaylor
The definition of success from a dictionary describes success as:
1. the achievement of something planned or attempted
2. impressive achievement, especially the attainment of fame, wealth, or power
3. something that turns out as planned or intended
4. somebody who has a record of achievement, especially in gaining wealth, fame, or power
But what does success really mean to you?
This article will help you understand success, define success for you, assist you in determining what success means to you and how you can achieve success in all parts of your life.
Understanding Success:
What is Success?
There is no definitive answer to this question because the ‘experience’ of success is different for everyone. What I do know for sure is that once success is achieved, we feel great!
Success is a ‘good feeling’.
When we are successful, we discover that success is always tied to some kind of achievement or material accomplishment but it’s not the bank account, the house or the car that creates our success, it’s the actual ‘feeling’ of success that these accomplishments represent that makes us successful. It’s the feeling of achievement, the ‘trophies’ you look at and remember how and why you achieved them. You feel happy and proud of your accomplishments which are some of the feelings of success.
So…What is Success?
Success is a feeling, an energy, a vibration that is felt as you accomplish your goals in any area of your life.
Defining Success For You:
What does success mean to you?
Everyone experiences success in many different ways. Some people have successful careers, some have successful families and relationships and some have success in all areas of their life. And everyone’s measure of success is different too.
I feel very, very successful because I have a beautiful family that I get to spend a lot of time with every day. We enjoy being around each other and I’m very proud that my children have not seen the inside of a day care center. I feel very successful because I am so in love with life and I get paid for doing what I am passionate about – inspiring others & helping others.
Let’s Determine Your Success:
Think about what you have accomplished in your life so far that has made you proud.
What are you striving for?
Describe your best qualities.
What are you good at doing?
Think of all the things you are good at…
Are you a good talker?
Do you meet people easily?
Do you like to play a musical instrument?
Are you good at sport, making people laugh or are you a stylish dresser?
Are you organized and efficient?
Are you creative, a good listener, a good adviser?
Focus on ALL the things you are good at and feel good about yourself. Create that feeling of success within you. Don’t focus on the things you want to change, just focus on your good qualities…what would make you ‘feel’ successful?
Once you determine what success means to you, set your goals and start ‘being’ the successful person you want to be. If you start BEING successful, you will then DO the things successful people do and finally, you will HAVE the things successful people have. This is following the BE DO HAVE principle that all successful people live by.
Achieving Success In All Parts Of Your Life:
Now that you understand that success is a good feeling, understand that you can program your mind to feel success everyday…YOU can choose success.
Yep, success is a choice. You can either choose to be successful…or choose not to be successful.
Once you choose to be successful (and stand by your decision), you will do whatever it takes to achieve that success. By making that choice, you will naturally follow the principles of success (responsibility, passion, desire, action, vision, belief and serving others) and once you start applying the principles of success to all parts of your life, you will create the ‘feeling of success’ in everything you do, automatically creating wealth and happiness, building a collection of trophies along the way.
Conclusion:
As you can see, success is in the eye of the beholder and once you know what success means to you and you choose to be successful, you will create an abundance of wealth and happiness in your life. Don’t wait until you are successful before you start being successful. Start ‘BEING’ successful now and walk like a successful person would walk, make the choices a successful person would make and take on a quality of success that a successful person would take. When you start BEING the successful person, you start DOING the things that successful people do which means that you will then HAVE the things successful people have.
Refer to your list of things that you are good at every day. Know what your strengths are and be aware of them.
Remember that everyone has a different measure of success, and gauge your success on the good feelings you have everyday because success is a good feeling that is felt as you are accomplishing your goals. Your material accomplishments are your ‘trophies’ that remind you how and why you achieved them.
